How It Works
Get started in 3 simple steps

Download the installer (~7MB) and run it. The app installs in seconds with no additional setup required.
Launch Your Game
Start any supported game. The app automatically detects it and shows available features for that game.
Enable Overlay
Press the hotkey (default: F6) to toggle the overlay. Use F9 to lock/unlock, F7/F8 to zoom, and F5 for live tracking. All hotkeys are fully customizable in settings.
Recent Updates
Latest changes and improvements to the companion app
@THGL Companion App version 8.1.7 should fix the remaining issue
Community & Synced Filters
In the My Filters section you can now browse Community Filters — filters shared by other users. This is an early test feature and I'd love your feedback! Browsing requires an account.
Your existing private and shared filters can now sync with your account too. Without an account they stay in your browser only; with an account they're stored server-side and synced across your devices.
Peer Link
You can now set a player name and color in Peer Link, shown to others in your group. Makes it much easier to tell teammate icons apart on the map.
FAQ Channel
The https://discord.com/channels/320539672663031818/1038352744341311528 is now synced with the [website FAQ](https://www.th.gl/faq), so both stay consistent and are easier to maintain. If anything's missing or unclear, let me know.
Reset Audio Alerts
App settings now has a one-click Reset all for per-filter audio alerts — turns every alert back off (separate from Mute All, which only silences them).
New Server Provider
I moved all projects from Vercel to Bunny — more control and lower hosting costs. This should also fix connection issues for users in Russia and other regions that often block Vercel or Cloudflare.
Bug Fixes
•Height indicators (up/down arrows) are visible again — and now show for live spawns too
•Fixed duplicate "Other Player" icons
•Fixed custom node names not displaying
•Mobile: Whiteboard and Peer Link now open from the map-tools menu
•Palia: restored missing Lumberjacking filters (flow-infused saplings)
Live Mode is now a Tri-State Control
The Live Mode on/off toggle has been replaced with a three-way segmented control: Predicted, Combined, Live. Pick what you want to see on the map at any moment.
•Predicted — only the static and predicted spawn data are visible. No live tracking.
•Live — only spawns confirmed by the apps live reading. Permanent landmarks (vendors, towns) stay visible. Dynamic predictions are hidden — you only see what's actually there right now.
•Combined — both modes layered: predicted spawns render faded, live-confirmed spawns render in full color. You see everything that could be there, with clear visual distinction for what's currently there.
The F5 hotkey now cycles through the three modes (was "Toggle Live Mode", now "Cycle Live Mode").
Performance Improvements
The overall rendering performance in the apps should be improved during player movement and panning the map.
Filter Search
A new search input inside the filter panel narrows visible filter groups + values by display name. Matching groups auto-expand and non-matching values are hidden, so you can find a filter without scrolling through dozens of categories. Works in all 18 supported languages.
The old "Expand all / Collapse all" toggle has been removed.
App Lineup Changes
•Avowed Overwolf app and Hogwarts Legacy Overwolf app are deprecated. Both games are still fully supported in the [THGL Companion App](https://www.th.gl/companion-app).
UI Fixes
•Dialogs that were rendering partially off-screen (especially in small overlay windows) are now properly clamped to the viewport
•Marker tooltips with high contextual content no longer get cut off when near the screen edge
Major Layout Redesign
The header and navigation have been completely reworked across all platforms (Web, THGL Companion App, Overwolf) to maximize map area and create a consistent, streamlined experience.
Fewer Ads, More Map
•Desktop: some ads are hidden when the filter sidebar is collapsed, giving you a cleaner map experience
•Mobile: reduced from two ad containers (floating video + banner) to a single 320x50 bottom banner
•"Get AD-Free" badge made more compact
New Header Layout (Web)
•Replaced the left sidebar with a compact game switcher dropdown in the header
•Social links (Discord, GitHub, Reddit) now sit inline in the header on desktop, and in the nav dropdown on mobile
•Legal Notice, Privacy Policy, and Consent links moved into the nav dropdown on all screen sizes
•Removed the Info button — all its content is now in the nav dropdown
•Settings and Account buttons use outline style for better visibility
•Account icon changed from Heart to CircleUser for clarity
New Header Layout (THGL Companion App)
•Streamlined to just Settings, Account, and a burger menu in the header
•Hide Controls, Overlay/Desktop/Both toggle, and Live Mode always visible in the header on all screen sizes
•Burger menu contains social links (Discord, GitHub, Reddit), Debug Snapshot, and legal links
•CircleUser icon for account, consistent with web
New Header Layout (Overwolf)
•Rebuilt header with own 32px design (no longer shares the 54px web header)
•Game switcher with compact icon fits the smaller header
•2nd Screen Mode, Live Mode, and Hide Controls always visible
•Settings and Account as outline buttons, burger menu for socials, debug, and legal links
•Debug Actors button now a compact icon instead of full-width text button
•"Show controls" hint text reduced for a cleaner overlay experience
Grouped Map Controls
•Map controls (Compass, 3D, Zoom, Home) and action buttons (Whiteboard, PeerLink, Node, Drawing) are now compact grouped strips
•On mobile, a single button opens a popover with all controls
•Action clicks close the popover; map control clicks don't
•Consistent 32x32px button sizes across all groups
Collapsible Filter Panel
•Filters collapse on mobile by default for more map space
•A floating "Filters" button appears when collapsed
•Slide-in/out animation via CSS left positioning
•Expand/collapse toggle for small/large filter mode on desktop
Marker Tooltip Improvements
•Tooltips now render outside the map container (no longer clipped by overflow)
•Works correctly in small overlay/minimap windows
•Tooltip closes when hovering over UI overlays (controls, filters)
•Tooltip won't open for markers hidden behind UI elements
New Map Renderer on Overwolf
•The Overwolf apps has been updated. See https://discord.com/channels/320539672663031818/1166078913756270702/1485611369339424939 for the Map Renderer details.
Other Improvements
•External nav links restyled as pill buttons with borders for better visibility
•Locale switcher shows globe icon and highlights active language
•Brand text shows full game name on large screens, "TH.GL" on medium
•Mobile banner ad aligned to bottom-left
•"Get AD-Free" badge made more compact
•Removed unused dev-log utility
•Cleaned up private-node debug logging
... and several more Bug Fixes
New Map Renderer
The interactive map has been completely rebuilt with a new WebGL2-based renderer, replacing the previous engine (leaflet). This affects all game websites and the THGL Companion App.
What's improved
•Map rendering is significantly faster and smoother, especially when zooming and panning
•Icons and markers are rendered more efficiently, even with thousands on screen
•Smoother player movement
3D Perspective Mode
•Right-click and drag to tilt and rotate the map
•On mobile, use two fingers to rotate and tilt while zooming
•Height indicators show elevation differences between markers when tilted
•New compass and map controls (3D toggle, zoom, reset view) next to the existing action buttons
New Settings
•Dynamic icon sizing: control how marker icons scale when zooming in and out (toggle + intensity slider in Icon Sizes settings)
•Trace line style: choose between dots (default) or connected line
Tooltip Improvements
•Tooltips now reposition automatically to stay within the map area
•Improve scrolling inside long tooltip descriptions
Text Labels
•Labels scale consistently with zoom level
Other Changes
•Responsive ad layout: smaller ad format on short browser windows to avoid overlapping map controls
Overwolf in-game overlays are not updated yet — I'd love to get your feedback on the new renderer first before rolling it out there. Let me know if you notice anything off!
