Why can't I click the overlay when holding ALT in games like BPSR or Wuthering Waves?
Companion AppTechnical
This is intentional behavior to prevent the mouse cursor from disappearing.
What happens:
In some games (like Blue Protocol Star Resonance and Wuthering Waves), holding ALT temporarily enables mouse control for in-game UI interaction.
The problem:
- When you hold ALT, the game shows the mouse cursor
- If you click the overlay, Windows shifts focus away from the game
- The game detects this focus loss and immediately hides the cursor
- Even though you're still holding ALT, the cursor disappears and you can't interact with anything
The solution:
While holding ALT, the overlay becomes click-through (non-interactive):
- You can still see the overlay for reference
- All clicks pass through to the game
- The game keeps focus and the cursor stays visible
- You can interact with in-game UI without issues
To interact with the overlay:
Simply release the ALT key first. The overlay will become interactive again and you can click normally.
This ensures smooth gameplay without cursor visibility issues.
