How Do I Delete a Single Shape from a Drawing?

Even editing "the drawing" doesn't seem to let me edit a shape, it just prompts me to add new ones. Is it a feature gap, or am I missing something?

Did you click on Edit Drawing?

Yeah, it just makes a new shape in the drawing. If I try to click the circle I want to remove, it doesn't select it because it's in "new shape" mode.

Did you try the Delete tool? this should work with circles
